Meet the Mind Behind Science Belly!

Written by:

I started Science Belly out of a desire to help others navigate the confusing world of nutrition and diet culture. Understanding nutrition can be daunting and with a Bachelor of Science from Virginia Tech in Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise and 10 years of experience helping others become their healthiest, happiest, and best selves, I know that I can help you!

I strongly believe that nutritional changes aren’t just about losing weight, but can be essential to brain health and other long-term bodily effects. In particular, I find the effects of carbohydrate-restricted diets like the ketogenic diet on brain health especially fascinating. During my senior year of college, I dedicated my time to researching how our body’s ability to process glucose in the brain declines and the potential positive effects of a carbohydrate-restricted diet.

I believe that everybody deserves a tailored approach. No two bodies are the same, so we shouldn’t expect a one-size-fits-all model. To understand the personalized needs of every client, I often recommend genetic testing such as 23 and Me. It is a great way to get a fuller picture of how your body works, but definitely not a requirement to understanding your needs!

As you explore Science Belly, know that I strongly believe that everyone deserves access to better health and a deeper understanding of how to make the best choices for themselves.
